You can call me Joe
I don't know where it comes from but I get called "Dr. Friel" a lot. I don't have a PhD or an MD or any other D's behind my name. But even more common is for athletes to call me "Joel." I suspect that comes from having an "L" on the end of my last name. Watch the posted comments on this blog and you will see "Joel" appear occasionally. Not a big deal. Just a minor nuisance in grand scheme. You can call me "Joe."

OK, Joe. ;)
Thank you for your guidance and help over the years, first with the CTB and then the TTB!
Your name is an optical illusion. I'm one of the offenders - Apologies.
No worries Dr Joel.
Hi Joe,
Found your link on another blog and came over for a visit, I like what I found and will be back for more!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge and love of sport with the world.
Australia greetings, H.
Hey Joe.. while you are on it, I think you should share with folks how you got the name Joe.
Gear--He isn't telling everyone, but Gear, who is CTO at TrainingPeks.com, and I actually share the same first name--George. He became 'Gear' through a combo of his first and middle names--GEorge and ARthur. I became Joe because when I was in grade school all boys had to have a nickname based on their given names. I always signed mine 'Geo' as my dad did. That sounded like and became 'Joe.' Fascinating, huh...
