Joe -

Back i August you posted about doing a 4'(1') FTP test until you reach your LTHR. Have you done anymore analysis to determine whether this is as accurate as your 30' approach?

Thanks,
-Tim

Tim--I continue to use it with the athletes I coach and I'm pretty confident is is generally accurate. But the key is knowing LTHR accurately.

Hi joe

I read your article on fat burning and you said some start the test at a rer of .8 and some at .9. So what do you mean by start of the test.
thank you

I did a 30' test and have my LTHR. Does LTHR change much throughout a season, specifically in-season vs off-season?

Thanks,
-Tim

Tim--LTHR changes with fatigue and loss of fitness, but not much. Within a long workout fatigue will lower it. When several weeks are taken off from training it will also drop some.
