Ironman Results

In regards to the post below (Ironman Race Plan), I've had a number of people ask how my client's Ironman race went last weekend. Rather than post all of those questions I'll just summarize it now. The swim was a bit slow but it seemed that was the case for many due to some chop on the lake. The bike numbers were right on. The run did not go as we had planned. We're currently discussing why that may have happened and making plans to correct our weaknesses and qualify still this season.

Concerning your older post on overtraining. My drive to race and the "snap" in my sprint have gone down, even after winning the local circuit and crit race back to back last week. No way this is overtraining, is it? Is fatigue the same as overtraining? Every spring/summer I ramp up my training/racing, and this always happens. I usually take a few days off and it gets a little better, but I go into the same racer's depression after a while...
I know there are a huge number of variables...any guesses?

Here's my racing results so far (http://app.obra.org/results/racer/21659).

ace--More than likely you're experiencing fatigue associated with overreaching. And it sounds like it may be too much fatigue if you're having to take days away from training to recover. There could be lots of reasons for this happening. The most common is too many back-to-back, hard workouts/races without easy training days.
